Variety ads 1980-1989

VARIETY ADS FOR FILIPINO B-FILMS 1980-1989

Many thanks to William S. Wilson and co over at the Mobius Forum for uploading these gems!

BAS FILMS (BOBBY A. SUAREZ)

American theatrical release for Bobby's third Cleopatra Wong adventure, Devil's Angels (1981), as Pay Or Die

Working title and sometime release title for American Commandos (1986)

CONCORDE/NEW HORIZONS & CIRIO H. SANTIAGO

KINAVESA & SILVER STAR (K.Y. LIM)

THE ITALIANS (ANTONIO MARGHERITI etc)

Antonio Margheriti's The Last Hunter (1980)

The CANNON GROUP

1984, and the start of Chuck's Big Philippines Adventure!

Chuck as American Ninja (1985), before Michael Dudikoff was handed the franchise

First attempt (and a Chuck-less one, at that) at marketing Delta Force 2: The Columbian Connection (1990), partially shot in the Philippines...

...and here's shot numero dos, just before shooting started!

...AND THE REST!

Is this a release of Supercock aka Fowl Play (1975), Ross Hagen and Nancy Kwan's one-joke comedy about professional cockfighting?

Romy Suzara's ambitious Pinoy western shot in Arizona: The Gunfighter, aka The Kid And The Gunfighter (1983) with Lito Lapid

A Pinoy double-hitter: George E. Rowe's Fortress In The Sun (1978) with Nancy Kwan and Tony Ferrer, and Eddie Nicart's Caliber .357 (1984).

Bold film Isla (1984), directed by Celso Ad. Castillo and starring Maria Isabel Lopez. Despite the enticing ad campaign, I doubt the film was sold outside the Philippines, unlike Maria's similarly steamy Silip (1985).

Heated Vengeance (1985) with Richard Hatch

Ferde Grofe Jr's Hell Raiders (1986)

West Indian-born Antony Maharaj's The Fighter (1987)

F. Puzon Film Enterprises, formerly Cinex, and its optimistic production slate circa early 1988; out of the eleven films in development or production, only one - Hostage Syndrome (1988) - would be made.

Romano Scavolini's Dog Tags (1988)

Brian Trenchard-Smith's incredible 'Nam actioner The Siege Of Firebase Gloria (1989) under its working title
